Paper Knives seeks to publish new and classic short poems (arbitrarily defined as less than 14 lines) that demand further consideration. Expect an occasional email (sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly) with each installment containing a new poem with short commentary and a brief roundup of other notable news and reviews. In addition to re-publishing neglected works from the public domain, the weekly review will accept submissions of poems and briefs for announcement only from subscribers during announced open submissions periods, but subscriptions will be free.

Unsolicited submissions are currently accepted. Send a single .doc or .pdf file with a poem of less than 14 lines as an attachment to paper.knives.poetry@gmail.com addressed to the editor. In the body of your email, respond to a recent issue’s feature and commentary, talk a bit about the poem that you’re submitting and provide a brief (50-100 word) bio. FYI Submissions that don’t meet these criteria will be deleted.
